Rustic Wine Rack

  • Manufacturing a basic bending jig to form the racks was the first task

  • The reclaimed Teak sleepers were a tad too rustic, but a couple of days on the belt sander got that sorted

  • Each piece of wood has a unique look, feel and character.

  • Assembled the metal and wood finds a harmonic equilibrium

  • Inaugural bottle in, now to fill the other 143 racks

  • Just enough space to expand the collection

The client required a wine rack that was a departure from conventional designs where the chosen space could carry a gregarious piece that demanded attention. As such both the metalwork and timber used remain true to their origins in a design utilizing simple and robust lines and shapes.
