Kaamil has been a huge part of my life. Through his kind, passionate, humour-filled, and thoughtful mentorship, he’s helped me push through tough times, succeed in both sport and academics, and grow into the person I am today. When my closest rowing friends and I were at the bottom of the barrel, Kaamil never gave up on us. He pushed us relentlessly — mentally and physically — and guided us all the way to winning first place at SA Champs. That journey with him is something I’ll never forget. Over five years, Kaamil has given me priceless experience, knowledge, and life advice. He’s proven himself time and time again — defying the odds, overcoming struggles, and lifting up those around him as he rises. Kaamil has not only been a skilled and inspiring coach, but also a mentor, a teacher, and someone I’m proud to call a friend. I’m confident following in his footsteps, wherever that path may lead.

Kaamil Adams was a huge part of my high school experience at SACS. From the beginning of my rowing career to winning SA Champs, he was there every step of the way — pushing us, believing in us, and making sure we gave everything we had on the water. He wasn’t just a coach — he was a mentor, a freind, and honestly, someone we all looked up to. He knew how to bring out the best in every one of us, even when we didn’t see it in ourselves. The sessions were tough, but they taught us discipline, teamwork, and how to fight for something bigger than ourselves. Winning SA Champs was one of the best moments of my life, and it wouldn’t have happened without him. But more than that, I’m grateful for everything he taught us outside of rowing too — creating life long friendships, working hard, and showing up for each other. Thanks, Kaamil. Kaamil Adams has mentored me through my rowing career from the young age of 14. Beyond medals and titles, he gave me a love for the journey and hard work - something you rarely find with other coaches of any kind. Kaamil has a well-rounded approach, achieving brilliant results in his coaching career as a whole, including multiple national gold medals.
